Storybook Endings: Real Fairytale Endings for Our Storybook Brides
Andrea’s “fairytale ending” began on the morning of her 29th birthday. She had decided to start the day slow by enjoying a nice cup of coffee on the couch, when her boyfriend, Tanner, and their dog, Haven, entered the room. Instead of cozying up next to her on the couch, Tanner surprised Andrea by getting down on one knee and asking if she would marry him! It was an easy “Yes!” for Andrea! Her 29th birthday will always hold a special place in her heart as the day she and Tanner got engaged in their first home.
In February, in the midst of wedding plans and preparations, Andrea gathered her mom, mother-in-law, sisters, and best friends to help tackle a big item on her “to-do list”—finding her dream wedding gown. In the months leading up to this day, Andrea had created a vision of what she wanted for her dress. She dreamt of wearing a vintage-styled dress with sleeves, and she was hoping to find the perfect gown at A Storybook Ending. On the day of her appointment, Andrea selected and tried on a few gowns, but she still had not found one that matched exactly what she had envisioned. Fortunately, her expert stylist, Christi, had a dress in mind that she thought might be just what Andrea was looking for. As soon as she put it on, Andrea’s emotions overflowed with joy, and the reaction from her family and friends confirmed that this, indeed, was the dress she had been waiting for!
On November 5, 2022, Andrea woke up to a wedding day forecast that brides often dread—cold, windy, and rainy. Though some people say rain on your wedding day is good luck, Andrea was understandably disappointed that her dream of taking outdoor photos would most likely not become a reality. Since weather is not something that can be controlled, Andrea resigned to the fact that her wedding photos would have to be indoors. Thankfully, the ceremony and reception were both at the Merrill Hotel in Muscatine, so Andrea was grateful that they at least had plenty of options for indoor photos. Just when she had given up hope for photos outside, the weather took a surprising turn. Andrea describes the moment as one she will always remember, “During the ceremony, the sun started to shine for the first time that day—to the point where I could barely open my eyes during the ceremony. I firmly believe it was our loved ones from Heaven letting us know they were there! It was a really magical moment, and I was so thrilled that I was able to get photos done outside after the ceremony!” Clearly dreams do come true, and Andrea looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown as she married the love of her life, Tanner.
When reflecting on her journey to find a bridal gown, Andrea lovingly shares, “My experience at A Storybook Ending was so much more than I could have ever dreamt.
